Holland Given All Clear to Begin Training

There was some good news for The Downs today as versatile midfielder and Club Secretary Mike Holland, was given the go ahead to begin training again for his beloved Downs.

" It's great news for me " said Holland to reporters, " I've been doing not a lot for a long time and certainly feel out of shape. The most i've done is a run with Luca over Richmond Park last week, and a game in the sticks in our win over Molesey. "

Holland claims he will be taking it easy for the first few weeks, hitting the gym to build up his strength and get on the treadmill. He will also be looking to play some 5 a side where possible to get his touch back.

" I may make an appearance on Sunday against Walsingham. I'll see how the lads are getting on 1st and see if there's any injuries. If they're playing well then there's no need to upset the balance of the team by bringing on someone who's played barely 90 minutes in the last 2 months. "

This is a big plus for The Downs who have often struggled in the past to have a full squad week in week out. All fit and able players are welcome back into the squad.
